| Jim Pate, Chief Executive Officer, is a Unicoi County native. Jim
is a graduate of Unicoi County High School, and East Tennessee
State University, where he received his B.S. in Political
Science/History. He continued his education at University of Tennessee
School of Law where he received his Juris Doctorate and is licensed to practice
law. Jim is a member of the Tennessee Bar Association, and American Health Lawyer’s
Association. He is active in the community where he is a member of
Kiwanis Club, the Economic Development Board, 911 Board of Directors
and the Unicoi County Health Council.
Jim has been with Unicoi County Memorial Hospital since 2000. Jim is married to Cathy Pate. She is a librarian and a member of Unicoi County Commission. They have three daughters. Allison is a pharmacy student at UT Memphis and Whitney and Kelly are students at Unicoi County High School. Jim is a member of Shallow Ford Baptist Church where he serves as church treasurer and as a deacon. He also enjoys hunting, fishing and outdoor sports.

Toni Buchanan, MBA, PAHM, Chief Financial Officer is an Erwin native. She attended East Tennessee State University where she earned her Bachelor in Business Administration and Liberty University where she received her Masters in Business Administration She has certification with the Academy for Healthcare Management – PAHM Designation and is a member of Healthcare Financial Management Association. She is a 2006 graduate of the Unicoi County Tomorrow Leadership Class sponsored by the local Chamber of Commerce. Toni has been at her position with Unicoi County Memorial Hospital since 2004. She enjoys pets and is a sponsor member of Unicoi County Humane Society. She also enjoys swimming and traveling.
